The emergency department is a certified Level-III Trauma Center and sees approximately 57,000 patients annually.

In May 1996, Northwest Texas Healthcare System was re-established as a for-profit hospital. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, with the distinction of "Commendation" on two consecutive surveys, and licensed by the state Regulatory Affairs Department.
